The Himba tribe come from northern Namibia, in the Kunene Region and on the other side of the Kunene River in Angola. The Himba rub a mixture of red ochre and fat on their bodies to protect them from the sun and to give their appearance a rich reddish colour. The women are known for their intricate hairstyles and beautiful traditional jewellery made from iron and shells and even their children are adorned with jewellery.
